All day yesterday and up until 1pm today have been as close to painfully unbearable as I 've had since my medical situation happened in the first place, with having to run to the can to empty the bag way too often for where I was at (at work,) possibly losing business whie I was taking care of things.
I can tell you to whomever hasn't gone to the next journal by now, that if you were planing to get your own stoma: don't! It is a messy and a literal at times pain to deal with. I think sometimes that the stoma actually wants to go back inside but since it is sutured in place, all it can do is to shoot pain into the surrounding area. Pain that is equal to:
A. Having my skin peeled off slowly with a pair of rusted tweezers that is usually used to clear the shower's hair trap.
B. Finding that bowl of chili that doesn't agree with me.
The surgeon originally wanted to prevent this suffering by reattaching things during the initial surgery, but couldn't get it done to her satisfaction after ten hours. I hope she succeeds when it is time to try it again.
